Campaign Story
About the project
The Kangpokpi and Imphal West districts of Manipur are experiencing social unrest due to ongoing conflict among tribal communities. This conflict has deeply impacted the lives of children and women, leaving many families displaced or homeless. A lack of healthcare facilities, inadequate educational resources and limited income are key factors affecting the well-being of people in these communities. CRY America aims to empower the two districts by providing education and protection support to the children and adolescents of this community.
Making a difference
CRY America’s Wide Angle Social Development project works to bridge the gap between the haves and the have-nots by facilitating access to education for children in the community. Key activities under this project include identifying out-of-school children and enrolling them in schools, setting up support classes, and connecting them with educational programs. Another major focus of the project is parental and child counseling to help families cope with societal trauma and return to a regular, peaceful, and healthy life.
